Judaica Donations

Judaica

The reason for the existence of the King David Schools is in order to provide an excellent Jewish education. In order to do so the range of formal and informal programmes are ever expanding and improving. Teacher training and curriculum development are both necessary and costly. The informal opportunities in tefillah and other elements of the school, together with the world class informal programme offered by the Division of Informal Jewish Education are essential in moving Jewish education from the theoretical to the practical. The Board has introduced three new Hebrew programmes so as to enhance the study of Hebrew, especially in the realm of verbal skills. The breadth of Zionist activities and opportunities for students to go on Israel trips always needs enhancement.

The cost of achieving the strategic plan for Hebrew and Jewish Studies will be R6 million. This includes:

1. Jewish Studies High school curriculum R1.5 million
2. Teacher training R1 million
3. Hebrew NETA programme R1.5 million
4. Hebrew teacher programme R2 million
