King David Schools' Foundation
Since 1994 the King David Schools’ Foundation, under the auspices of the South African Board of Jewish Education, has secured funds to assist deserving Jewish children “reach for the stars” by offering scholarships and bursaries for an education of Jewish and secular excellence at one of the King David Schools.
We are a registered non-profit organisation, No. 005-644 NPO, and are managed by a board of Trustees. Our Executive Director, Elliot Wolf, has had a forty year long association with the King David Schools, and was Headmaster of King David High School Linksfield for 34 years. In his capacity as main fundraiser, he has ensured that we are able to assist over 60 children annually. Under Mr. Wolf’s leadership, we have also partnered with several schools from underprivileged communities, in the hope of also helping these children to “reach for the stars”, through our supplementary educational programmes. We raise funds for the maintenance of these Outreach programmes, which involve the mentorship and tutorship of learners from disadvantaged schools with the assistance of teachers and learners from the King David schools. We also provide opportunities for social interaction, cultural enrichment, stimulation and guidance in the form of outings, life skill workshops and much more.
