Subsidy Program

Subsidy Programme

The South African Board of Jewish Education encourages all Jewish children to receive a Jewish education.  In adhering to this philosophy, provision is made to assist parents having difficulty in paying school fees.

It is understood that there are parents that are not able to pay the normal school fee.The SABJE provides an annual budget to assist such parents. An initial application form is required to be completed by parents experiencing financal difficulties.
The application forms are available from the office of the Financial Director.

Financial information and supporting documentation needs to be provided.
  • Applicants are required to have the application form declared to be true and correct and sworn and certified by a commissioner of oaths.
  • The documentation is treated with the highest confidentiality.
  • Each year parents who still require assistance are required to submit a Re-application Form
  • Re-application forms are distributed to those requiring aid in July of the preceding year.
  • The applicant consents to the Board gathering any information which assists in determining the financial position of the applicant.
The subsidy will be granted to deserving parents on the understanding that the portion of fees that are not subsidised are paid to the Board as and when agreed on.
