King David Pre-Primary School Linksfield
King David Pre-Primary School was established in 1948 on the corner of Club and Bedford Streets, Linksfield. We cater for children from 2 to 6 years and firmly believe that we are “ensuring a Jewish Education for tomorrow”.
We have experienced and nurturing teachers and teaching assistants who work with the children in a controlled environment planned specifically for little ones of pre-school age - an environment that awakens the desire to learn and stimulates curiosity.
Our school stands in park-like gardens with space to run and play or to sit quietly in the shade listening to a story.
We celebrate all the Jewish festivals with songs, dances, stories and special food and provide an introduction to Yiddishkeit – the beginning of a feeling and appreciation for our culture and heritage.
Our four Grade R classes were introduced in 2001 and are run as a separate school. We prepare the children for the challenges of Primary School and liaise closely with both the King David Pre-Primary and Junior Primary Schools. One of these classes is a Small Class for children who need more individualised help. A Remedial Teacher is on the staff of the Grade R to give specialised help where needed.
Both schools enjoy the support of a Speech Therapist and Social Worker who work with the children and staff. The children do music and physical education and are learning to speak Hebrew in our Chalav u’Dvash programme from Israel. Our active and committed PTA parents work hard to raise funds for special toys and equipment for the children to enjoy.
King David Pre-Primary and Grade R, Linksfield, are striving to provide a balanced and up-to-date Early Childhood curriculum for our children, with fun and laughter underpinning everything we do. Happy children learn best and we give emotional and educational support to all who need it, making sure that each little boy and girl begins their schooling with the tools to be a mensch as well as a lifelong learner.
